About My Work
At The Record and The Odyssey Online, I have written a variety of articles about social and political issues, though most of my work can be considered of general interest. For The Record, I also wrote some articles about issues related to Buffalo State College and the City of Buffalo. I also wrote reviews of the plays produced by Buffalo State College's Casting Hall. For The Buffalo Review-TV, I covered news, oriented around Buffalo State College. At WBFO, I wrote online stories based on the interview I conducted or the press conference I covered that day. I wrote, edited, and produced a feature about how the ride-hailing industry has affected business for local taxi companies in Western New York. While I was at Bengal News West I covered news and issues on the West Side of Buffalo. Each week I was required to use a different format for my story as well as copyediting the work of my peers. For Millennium Magazine, I wrote stories about real estate developments in and around New York City. My first and only story was about the redevelopment of Garvies Point in Glen Cove, Long Island. In my time as a reporter with The Ithaca Times, I was the general assignment reporter, a position in which I write everything about everyone. I regularly wrote stories about news in Ithaca and statewide issues that might affect Tompkins County. I also helped them develop their daily newsletter, Ithaca Times Daily. As a writer for 25YL, I wrote articles about television shows or films; some of which have been extensive oral histories. For the Niagara Gazette, I have reported on numerous local issues of great importance to residents. During the covid-19 pandemic, I wrote about how several local school districts are being affected by the pandemic.

The Buffalo State Record: Opinion/Culture Editor
During my time at the Buffalo State Record, I began working as a staff writer until October 2015. I was then promoted to the position of Columnist for the Opinion Section. Every week I pitched my stories to my editor and took on certain assignments that would challenge me to explore hard-hitting issues from multiple perspectives. Though I was offered the position of Opinion Editor in December 2015, I declined it because I wasn't experienced enough to take on such a big role. In August 2017, however, I accepted the role of Opinion Editor. During my final semester, my role changed to Opinion/Culture Editor. I was given a special award for writing over 100 articles in my tenure with them.
The Odyssey Online: Editor-in-Chief/Contributor
At The Odyssey Online, my role is similar to being a columnist at The Record. I was responsible for submitting an article each week about any topic of my choosing. However, I was also responsible for submitting my articles with photographs, tags to find it under, and any additional social media websites I want my article to be shown on. In January of 2018, I was promoted to Editor-in-Chief based on how frequently I would write and the dedication I showed to my work.
The Buffalo Review-TV: Reporter
During my time at The Buffalo Review-TV, I was responsible for both on-air reporting on the show and working behind the scenes with the editorial staff. I conducted on air interviews, recorded interviews for two packages. Though I didn't edit them, I worked with a videographer to do voice over and make sure the segment looked the way I wanted it to. For one show, I was a producer, which meant I was responsible for giving the reporters and interviewers assignments for that weeks show, getting any images for the news anchor's reports.
WBFO-88.7 FM: Intern
As a part of my college degree, I interned at WBFO, Buffalo's NPR affiliate. I was responsible for conduct interviews, and attending press conferences to record audio and get any necssary photographs. Once I was done with either an interview or a press conference, I would listen for the best sound bites possible and use them to draft three scripts. After the scripts were completed I would use the interview to draft a web post about the story. Also, I conducted interviews and got sound for a long form feature about how the taxi cab industry has been affected by ride-hailing coming to Western New York.
Bengal News West: Reporter
Each week at Bengal News West, my partner and I would come up with story ideas to pitch to the professor. After that, based on the different types of stories we had to do, whether it was a package, a video, a photo brief, or a news brief we took the necessary steps to complete this assignment. After that we would work together to edit the piece and make it as strong as possible before submitting it to be copyedited. Each Wednesday, we copyedited the work of our peers and came up with headlines for their work. After a while, my partner and I decided we should both work alone. This meant we would both be responsible for the usual work we would have done together.
Millennium Magazine: Executive Assistant
During my time at Millennium, I wrote stories related to real estate developments in and around New York City. I was responsible for gathering interviews with people related to certain people related to various real estate developments. I also had to find images to accompany my articles and make sure that they were sent to the publisher for layout. I also located places to submit event flyers.
Ithaca Times: Reporter/Newsletter Coordinator
At the Ithaca Times, I was responsible for gathering interviews with people about news or events relating to Ithaca. In addition to that, I also researched information related to my stories and look for any information that would improve the story. Also, I help to edit the stories in the paper for any grammar or spelling errors. As time went on, I developed the Ithaca Times' newsletter, Ithaca Times Daily and helped bring it to fruition.
The Girlpreneur Guide: Articles Editor
While working at The Girlpreneur Guide, I am responsible for editing all content before it is reviewed by the Managing Editor and then published. In addition to that, I also write articles for the media and TV/film sections. I am also responsible for hiring new writers and editors to join the staff.
25YL (25 Years Later): Staff Writer
As a staff writer for 25YL, I was responsible for writing content for 25YL's TV and Film sections. I specifically center on the societal impacts some shows have had such as how In Living Color got the Super Bowl Halftime Show to feature major pop artists. I also wrote for their series Cancelled Too Soon or Cancelled Too Late.
Niagara Gazette: Reporter
As a reporter for the Niagara Gazette, I was initially assigned to write about Niagara Falls. However, once the COVID-19 pandemic began, I started writing articles about the Niagara Falls, Lewiston-Porter, Niagara-Wheatfield, and North Tonawanda School Districts. I also cover North Tonawanda and Lewiston government meetings.
Public News Service: Producer
As a producer for Public News Service, I work on stories regarding issues in a host of states, predominantly New York, Connecticut, and Virginia.
